Job Summary: Plan and provide services such as workshops and technical assistance to school personnel (district/charter) in support of DMAC software applications. Research and create needs assessments for DMAC’s test item bank and work collaboratively with other DMAC specialists to create high-quality items based on the needs of users and state standards that meet all bias and sensitivity requirements. This is a secondary Reading Language Arts position. Overnight travel is required.

 

Qualifications: 

 

     Education/Training:

          Bachelor's Degree in Education

          Prefer Master's Degree in an education-related field

          Texas Secondary Teaching Certificate in Reading Language Arts

 

     Experience:

          At least five years of related experience

          Require at least three years of teaching experience in Secondary RLA

          Experience with planning and delivering professional development to fellow

          educators.

 

     Knowledge / Skills:

          Ability to build, develop, and inspire teams

          Build and cultivate relationships

          Excellent Communication

          Financial Knowledge

          Ability to plan and lead workshops and/or special projects

 

     Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

          Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress

          Work with frequent interruptions; irregular hours

          Frequent regional travel; occasional statewide travel

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Plan and deliver services to schools in support of improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements
  2. Plan, organize, and conduct workshops, DMAC Academies, and DMAC Certification.
  3. Respond to client inquiries, comments, and suggestions as well as provide technical assistance as needed.
  4. Overnight travel is required.
  5. Market components and services through regional, state, and national conferences.
  6. Assist school districts in planning, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing their educational programs to facilitate the improvement of student achievement.
  7. Support school districts in using technology to develop data-informed practices.
  8. Research and create needs assessments for DMAC’s test item bank and work collaboratively with DMAC specialists to create high-quality items based on the needs of users and state standards that meet all bias and sensitivity requirements.
  9. Assess and maintain content developed by DMAC and/or third parties, ie. TEKS-RS
  10. Regular and reliable attendance.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Funding

All Region 7 employees are at-will employees. Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
