Job Summary: Supports educators and instructional coaches in implementing Bluebonnet Learning materials for K-5 Spanish Language Arts & Reading. Through professional learning sessions, targeted observations, coaching, and collaborative planning, the specialist will ensure that teachers are equipped to deliver high-quality reading language arts instruction aligned with rigorous standards and best practices through the use of Bluebonnet Learning materials. The specialist will support various TEA Initiatives such as, but not limited to, Bluebonnet Learning Implementation, Research-Based Instructional Strategies, and Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities, etc. This role will partner with district and school leaders to support the successful implementation of Bluebonnet Learning with a focus on building leadership capacity, guiding implementation planning, and ensuring high-fidelity execution of instructional strategies to improve student outcomes.

 

Qualifications:
Education/Training:
Bachelor Degree or required license
Prefer Master Degree in related field
Prefer applicant to have training in instructional coaching

 

Experience:
At least 7 years of related experience.
Proven expertise in K-5 SLAR instruction and curriculum implementation
Ability to facilitate professional learning sessions and coach educators
Must be well-versed in PLCs and instructional coaching
Strong ability to analyze instructional trends and provide actionable feedback
Prefer familiarity with Bluebonnet Learning materials or similar high-quality instructional materials (HQIM)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Support the implementation of ESC projects and TEA initiatives, such as the implementation of high-quality instructional materials, including Bluebonnet Learning.
2. Facilitate engaging and impactful professional learning sessions for teachers and instructional coaches.
3. Conduct classroom observations to evaluate implementation fidelity and provide constructive feedback to enhance instructional practices.
4. Offer tailored supports to address the unique needs of schools and educators.
5. Guide coaches and teachers through the process of unit and lesson internalization using established protocols, ensuring alignment with student learning goals and curriculum standards.
6. Facilitate Professional Learning Community (PLC) Sessions to practice established internalization protocols, analyze student data, and promote collaborative problem solving among educators.
7. Build Capacity in teachers and instructional coaches to sustain high-quality implementation through coaching, modeling, and continuous professional development.
8. Attend training sessions to maintain certification and stay updated on TEA initiatives including RBIS and Bluebonnet Learning.
9. Plan, develop, and present research-based data-driven professional development for Region 7 customers, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data.
10. Provide technical assistance to Region 7 customers for purposes of improving student performance.
11. Participate with other ESCs and TEA in activities designed to promote improved student performance.
12. Work collaboratively with all ESC staff in serving the customers of Region 7 ESC.
13. Demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions with ESC staff, the TEA and customers.
14. Attend and actively participate in ESC-required meetings.
15. Adhere to ESC policies and procedures in the Region 7 ESC quality management system.
